Customs & Import Duties Policy — Monelle

1. Overview

Monelle operates with a global network of suppliers, allowing us to offer exclusive products at competitive prices. As a result, some orders may be shipped directly from international fulfilment centres to countries within the European Union.

Depending on the destination country and order value, purchases may be subject to import taxes, VAT (Value Added Tax), and customs duties in accordance with local regulations.

2. How Customs & Taxation Works in the European Union

When goods are imported into EU countries, local customs authorities may apply:

  • Value Added Tax (VAT)
  • Import duties (where applicable)
  • Administrative or handling fees

These charges are determined by the customs authority of the destination country and are beyond Monelle’s control.

3. VAT (Value Added Tax)

Orders up to €150

  • VAT is generally applicable
  • In many cases, VAT may be collected at checkout via the IOSS (Import One Stop Shop) system
  • This helps ensure faster delivery with no additional charges upon arrival

Orders above €150

  • May be subject to:
    • VAT charged upon import
    • Additional customs duties
    • Clearance and handling fees

VAT rates vary depending on the destination country (e.g. France, Germany, Spain).

4. Import Duties

For orders exceeding €150:

  • Customs duties may be applied depending on the product category
  • These charges are calculated by local customs authorities
  • The exact amount varies based on classification and country regulations

5. Customer Responsibility

By placing an order with Monelle, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • Import taxes and customs charges may apply
  • These charges are not included in the product price unless explicitly stated
  • Payment of any such fees is required for the release of the parcel

Monelle does not have control over:

  • Customs decisions
  • Tax amounts
  • Processing or clearance times

6. Delivery & Potential Delays

International shipments may experience delays due to:

  • Customs inspections
  • Peak logistical periods
  • Local administrative procedures

While Monelle monitors shipments, we cannot intervene in customs processes.

7. Refusal to Pay Duties

If the customer refuses to pay the required customs charges:

  • The parcel may be returned to the sender
  • Return shipping and handling costs may be deducted from any refund
  • In certain cases, a full refund may not be possible

8. Transparency & Commitment

Monelle is committed to full transparency and compliance with international and European Union regulations.

Our goal is to provide a reliable shopping experience while maintaining access to unique products at globally competitive prices.

9. Customer Support

For any questions regarding customs, taxes, or your order, our support team is available through Monelle’s official contact channels.
